Rail engineering works in June — Dublin routes affected

If you’re travelling in Dublin during June, there are some engineering works to be aware of — these affect the Northern Commuter and Western Commuter lines. You’ll find a summary below, but stay posted to Irish Rail’s Line Improvements page for the latest details.


Northern Commuter

Due to engineering works between Connolly Station and Grand Canal Dock on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June, the following service alterations will apply:

Saturday 29th June

  • Dundalk to Pearse will operate to Connolly only

Sunday 30th June

  • 21:55hrs Drogheda to Pearse will operate to Connolly only

  • 23:35hrs Pearse to Dundalk will commence from Connolly at 23:42hrs


Western Commuter

Saturday 22nd and 29th June

Due to ballast cleaning works between Lisduff and Thurles on Saturday 8th, Saturday 22nd and Saturday 29th June, a large number of service departure times will be deferred. Passengers are advised to check Irish Rail’s journey planner for the full details prior to travel.
