Public transport in Dublin for August Bank Holiday Weekend 2023

Buses

Nitelink services will be in operation on Friday 4th August and Saturday 5th August 2023.

On Bank Holiday Monday 7th August 2023, all Dublin Bus services will operate to a Sunday timetable.

Luas trams

Due to scheduled engineering works, there will be no Luas Green Line trams running between St. Stephen’s Green and Beechwood Luas Stops on Saturday 5th August, Sunday 6th August, and Bank Holiday Monday 7th August 2023.

During these works, Green line Luas trams will run between Broombridge / Parnell and St. Stephen’s Green and between Beechwood and Sandyford / Brides Glen only.

Dublin Bus will accept valid Luas tickets from passengers in the affected area for the duration of the works

On Bank Holiday Monday 7th August, Luas trams will run to Sunday operating hours and frequency with services beginning at 7.00am on the Green and Red Lines.

Operating hours for the Red and Green Lines on Bank Holiday Monday 7th August are:

Green Line Hours — Bank Holiday Monday 7th August

  • From Broombridge: first tram at 07:00; last tram at 23:17

  • From St. Stephen’s Green (Southbound): first tram at 07:00; last tram at 23:41

  • From St. Stephen’s Green (Northbound): first tram at 07:22 ; last tram at 23:40

  • From Sandyford (Southbound): first tram at 07:14; last tram at 00:02

  • From Sandyford (Northbound): first tram at 07:00; last tram at 23:18

  • From Brides Glen: first tram at 07:00; last tram at 23:00

Red Line Hours — Bank Holiday Monday 7th August

  • From Tallaght: first tram at 07:00; last tram at 23:00

  • From Saggart: first tram at 07:12; last tram at 22:51

  • From Connolly: first tram at 15:12; last tram at 19:03

  • From The Point: first tram at 07:00; last tram at 23:30

Trains

DART trains will operate to normal timetables on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th August.

Due to planned engineering works, there will be no train services between Malahide and Drogheda on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th August 2023.

During the works, the following train stations will be closed:

  • Laytown

  • Gormonston

  • Balbriggan

  • Skerries

  • Rush and Lusk

  • Donabate.

There will be a limited bus service in operation between Drogheda, Balbriggan, Donabate, Connolly and Skerries, Rush and Lusk and Connolly.

On Bank Holiday Monday 7th August, DART and Dublin Commuter train services will operate to a Sunday timetable.
