The National Transport Authority (NTA) has announced that Phase 7 of the BusConnects network redesign will go live on Sunday, 19 October 2025. This phase introduces the new F-Spine along with several radial and local routes, while a number of long-standing services will be withdrawn.

BusConnects is the NTA’s programme to redesign Dublin’s bus system around high-frequency “spines,” supported by local, orbital and radial routes. The aim is to make the network simpler, more reliable and easier to navigate — and so far, the rollout has led to major increases in passenger numbers on corridors already converted.

Phase 7 will see nine new routes introduced:

  • F1: Ballymun (Ikea) – Finglas – City Centre – Tallaght (The Square) (24 hours, Spine)

  • F2: Charlestown Shopping Centre – City Centre – Rossmore (24 hours, Spine)

  • F3: Charlestown Shopping Centre – City Centre – Greenhills (Spine)

  • 23: Charlestown Shopping Centre – Finglas – Merrion Square (Radial)

  • 24: Dublin Airport – Botanic Gardens – Merrion Square (Radial)

  • 73: Marino – Thomas Street – Walkinstown (Radial)

  • 80: Dartry – Usher’s Quay – Liffey Valley (24 hours, Radial)

  • 82: Kiltipper – St. Stephen’s Green – Poolbeg (Radial)

  • L89: Rivermeade – Finglas – Broombridge (Local)

At the same time, the following routes will be withdrawn: 9, 26, 40, 40b, 49, 54a, 83, 83a, 123 and 140.

Three of the new radial routes — the 23, 24 and 73 — provide fresh city centre links from the northside, while the 80 and 82 add further radial connections from the south and west, giving new direct links across the city.
