Luas Christmas travel arrangements (2025)

Luas has announced its service arrangements for the Christmas season — they are listed below. As always, we advise using a Dublin journey planner before travelling however, to ensure you have the most up-to-date information.

Night Luas services

Additional late-night trams will operate on both the Red and Green Lines on the following dates:

  • Friday 12 December

  • Saturday 13 December

  • Friday 19 December

  • Saturday 20 December

  • Wednesday 31 December (New Year’s Eve)

Night Luas trams run in both directions, collecting passengers at all stops. However, the final Night Luas of the night only departs outbound (from The Point on the Red Line and Broombridge on the Green Line).

Red Line – Westbound (The Point → Tallaght)

  • 01:00, 02:00, 03:00 (all Night Luas dates)

Red Line – Westbound (The Point → Saggart)

  • 01:30, 02:30 (all Night Luas dates)

Red Line – Eastbound (Tallaght → The Point)

  • 01:00, 02:00 (all Night Luas dates)

Red Line – Eastbound (Saggart → The Point)

  • 00:30, 01:30 (all Night Luas dates)

Green Line – Brides Glen → Broombridge (Northbound)

  • Every 30 minutes from 00:20–02:50 (all Night Luas dates)

Green Line – Broombridge → Brides Glen (Southbound)

  • Every 30 minutes from 00:36–03:06 (all Night Luas dates)

Last Regular Luas Services (on nights without Night Luas)

Regular Luas services continue to run late, making the tram a good option throughout the Christmas season.

  • The Point → Tallaght: 00:30 (Mon–Sat) / 23:30 (Sun)

  • Connolly → Westbound: final tram at 19:44, but Busáras stop continues until 00:38 (Mon–Sat) / 23:36 (Sun)

  • Saggart → The Point: 23:49 (Mon–Sat) / 22:53 (Sun)

  • Tallaght → The Point: 00:00 (Mon–Sat) / 23:00 (Sun)

  • Broombridge → Brides Glen: 00:17 (Mon–Sat) / 23:17 (Sun)

  • Brides Glen → Broombridge: 00:00 (Mon–Sat) / 23:00 (Sun)

Christmas Eve – Wednesday 24 December

  • All services end at 20:00.

  • First/Last trams:

    • Tallaght: 05:30–20:00

    • Saggart: 05:42–19:52

    • The Point: 05:30–20:00

    • Brides Glen: 05:30–20:00

    • Broombridge: 05:30–20:00

Christmas Day – Thursday 25 December

  • No Luas services operate.

St Stephen’s Day – Friday 26 December

  • Services start at 09:00, running with Sunday frequencies and Sunday last tram times.

  • Last trams:

    • Tallaght: until 23:00

    • Saggart: until 22:53

    • The Point: until 23:30

    • Brides Glen: until 23:00

    • Broombridge: until 23:17

Saturday 27 December, Monday 29 December, Tuesday 30 December

  • Saturday operating hours and frequencies apply.

  • First/Last trams:

    • Tallaght: 06:30–00:00

    • Saggart: 06:42–23:49

    • The Point: 06:30–00:30
