The National Transport Authority (NTA) and Dublin Bus have announced the extension of Route L14 to Cherrywood, with the new service set to begin on Sunday, 15 June. The revised route will run through Southern Cross, Bray, Palermo, Shankill, Loughlinstown, Laughanstown and Cherrywood — including a direct link to the Luas Green Line at Cherrywood.

This update significantly expands the reach of the L14, offering improved public transport options across South Dublin and increasing connections between key residential and commuter areas. It also brings a dedicated bus service to Laughanstown, supporting ongoing housing developments in the area.

Launched earlier this year as part of Phase 6A of the BusConnects programme, the L14 has already proven popular. The new extension strengthens its role in the transport network, enhancing integration with other major services such as Bray Train Station and the 24-hour E1.

The frequency remains unchanged, with buses running every 30 minutes. There will be 35 return trips on weekdays, 32 on Saturdays, and 30 on Sundays and public holidays.

Jeremy Ryan, Director of Public Transport Services at the NTA, said the move reflects customer input:
“We’ve listened to the feedback calling for better onward connections. This extension to Cherrywood and the Luas Green Line will make the L14 even more useful and accessible for the communities it serves.”
