Public transport in Dublin for June Bank Holiday Weekend
As the June Bank Holiday approaches, here's a comprehensive guide to public transport services in Dublin from Friday 30 May to Monday 2 June 2025.
With major events like the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon, Bloom Festival, Forbidden Fruit Festival, and various concerts and sporting events happening across the city, it's advisable to plan your journeys in advance and allow extra time to reach your destinations.
Buses
Dublin Bus services will operate as follows over the weekend:
Friday, 30 May & Saturday, 31 May: Normal services will run, including full Nitelink operations on both nights.
Sunday, 1 June: Regular Sunday services will be in place. However, please be aware that a number of diversions will occur across the city to accommodate the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon. There will be no Nitelink service on this night.
Bank Holiday Monday, 2 June: All services will operate on a Sunday timetable.

Trams
Luas tram services will operate as follows:
Saturday, 31 May & Sunday, 1 June: Normal operating hours and frequency will be maintained on both the Green and Red Lines.
Bank Holiday Monday, 2 June: Services will follow Sunday operating hours and frequency, with trams starting from 07:00 on both lines.

Trains
Due to engineering works between Connolly and Dun Laoghaire from Saturday, 31 May to Monday, 2 June, the following service alterations will apply:
No train service between Connolly and Dun Laoghaire.
The following stations will be closed: Tara Street, Pearse, Grand Canal Dock, Lansdowne Road, Sandymount, Sydney Parade, Booterstown, Blackrock, Seapoint, and Salthill & Monkstown.
DART services will operate between:
Malahide / Howth and Connolly
Dun Laoghaire / Bray / Greystones
There will be no DART service between Connolly and Dun Laoghaire.
Rosslare services will run between Bray and Rosslare Europort. Direct bus transfers will operate between Connolly and Bray to connect with these services.
Dublin Bus and Go-Ahead Ireland will accept valid rail tickets on services between the closed stations.
