Luas Red Line disruption on 22–23 November as works take place

Luas passengers should plan for further disruption this weekend, as essential engineering works take place on the Red Line. On Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 November, all stops between Red Cow and Tallaght / Saggart will be closed.

During the works, Red Line trams will operate only between Connolly and Red Cow. This means there will be no tram service to Belgard, Cookstown, Hospital, Tallaght, Fettercairn, Cheeverstown, Citywest Campus or Saggart across the weekend. Full Red Line services are expected to resume on Monday 24 November. Green Line services are running as normal.

To support passengers in the affected area, Luas is operating a replacement bus service between Red Cow and Tallaght / Saggart. Buses will run approximately every 15 minutes, though some stops may have restrictions due to limited set-down space. Valid Luas tickets and Leap Cards will be accepted on all replacement services.

Separately, the section of the Red Line between Connolly and The Point remains closed following recent fire damage in the Docklands. This longer-term closure is expected to continue for several weeks while structural assessments and repairs are carried out.

A dedicated replacement bus service is currently operating between Connolly and The Point, stopping close to each Luas stop along the route. Buses run during normal Luas operating hours, and all services are wheelchair accessible on the lower deck.

For the latest travel information and live service updates, passengers are advised to visit the Luas website.
