Luas Red Line services disrupted this Saturday due to engineering works

Luas passengers should expect some disruption this weekend as essential engineering works take place on the Red Line. On Saturday 15 November, trams will not run between Abbey Street and Connolly for the full day.
While the closure affects a short section of track, it’s a busy one — particularly for passengers transferring to Irish Rail at Connolly or heading into the IFSC and Docklands. Red Line trams will operate only between Tallaght / Saggart and Abbey Street on the day, with full services resuming on Sunday 16 November. Green Line services are unaffected.
This weekend’s closure comes as a separate section of the Red Line — Connolly to The Point — remains shut due to fire damage in the Docklands area. That stretch is expected to stay closed for several weeks while structural assessments and repairs continue.
During this longer-term closure, Luas is operating a replacement bus service between Connolly and The Point. Buses run every 10 minutes during normal Luas hours, and valid Luas tickets or Leap Cards are accepted.
For passengers travelling between Connolly and The Point, buses stop at locations close to each Luas stop:
Busáras / Connolly: Bus bay outside Connolly Station (1 min walk)
George’s Dock: Hilton Garden Inn, Custom House Quay (4 mins walk)
Mayor Square – NCI: The Spencer Hotel (3 mins walk)
Spencer Dock: Convention Centre Dublin (4 mins walk)
The Point: Outside 3Arena on North Wall Quay (4 mins walk)
Buses operate:
Mon–Fri: 05:30–00:30
Saturday: 06:30–00:30
Sunday: 07:00–23:30
All buses are wheelchair accessible on the lower deck, with Luas staff on site to assist.
