Public transport arrangements for Bray Air Display

Air display planes in formation

The Bray Air Display returns on Saturday 2nd August 2025, bringing thrilling aerobatic performances to the skies above Bray seafront. As one of the biggest free events of the summer, it attracts large crowds and major traffic restrictions. The easiest way to get there is by public transport, and this guide outlines the best options to help you plan a smooth journey.

Dublin Bus

  • Core routes like 145, 155, E1, L12, L14, L1, L2, 45A/B will operate with delays and temporary diversions due to road closures near Bray Seafront.

  • Routes 145 and 155 will have extra services, but heavy traffic may slow them down.

  • Route L12 will temporarily run from Adelaide Road, not Bray Station; L14 will avoid Putland and Meath Roads.

  • Bus Éireann Route 131 continues hourly between Wicklow Town and Bray Town.

Luas Green Line + Shuttle Bus

  • Green Line will run normally with frequent service (every ~12–14 minutes) to Brides Glen.

  • A pre‑booked €6.50 return shuttle bus operates only at 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm outbound, returning from the event between 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm, last pick-up is sharp at 7:30 pm.

  • Only passengers with a valid shuttle bus ticket (booked before the event) may board.

DART

  • The DART service to Bray is the most direct public transport option. Irish Rail expects to run extra capacity on 2 August.

  • Heavy crowds and delays are highly likely—especially as everyone disembarks at Bray. Allow significantly more travel time than usual.

  • Bicycles are not permitted on DART or commuter services for this event.

Car Access & Event Car Parks

  • No public parking is available near the seafront. Parking bans start from 7:00 am, with road closures at 10:00 am. Cars risk being clamped or towed.

  • Designated parking only—two car parks (South Car Park and North Car Park) open from 10:00 am. South Car Park offers a free shuttle service to the event.

  • All car parks close by 8:00 pm and the event site closes at 10:00 pm.

Travel Advice & Tips

  • Arrive early! Event entertainment begins at 12 pm, with the aerial display starting around 3 pm.

  • Allow more journey time for delays at stations and along roads.

  • No alcohol on public transport; stay hydrated.

  • Follow the guidance of Irish Rail, Luas staff, stewards and Gardaí at all times.
